Ticks and your property
Ticks can transmit diseases such as Lyme disease. The blacklegged (deer) tick, lone star tick and American dog tick are all found in our area.
Ticks live in shaded, humid areas: wooded edges, stone walls, leaf litter, tall grass and ground cover. Our technicians treat these areas where people and pets are most likely to pick up ticks.

How our tick program works
Property assessment
We inspect your property to find where ticks live, breed and hide. Point out any areas where you have seen activity.
Treatment plan
We recommend a plan for your property and explain what we will treat and how often.
Scheduled service
Treatments are applied every 21 days from April through October.
Protecting yourself from ticks
- Dress for the outdoorsWear light-colored long pants and long sleeves, and tuck pants into socks in wooded areas.
- Use repellentUse an EPA-registered repellent, such as one containing DEET.
- Check after being outsideCheck your body, children and pets, including the scalp, underarms and behind the knees.
- Remove ticks promptlyRemove attached ticks as soon as possible with fine-tipped tweezers.
